MEET GIGI

I have 30 years’ experience in municipal government, public
policy, housing, water, public affairs, and team building.

Like many, I moved to Yucaipa for its safe, walkable downtown, easy
freeway access and rural feel. I am running to represent an area I
love: a vital part of the community, where young families and retirees
can still find affordable, safe places to live.

We must keep Yucaipa’s rural charm, limit higher density housing
closer to the freeway, fully fund public safety, and make sure our
mobile home parks have stable rents and safe conditions.

Yucaipa needs leaders with passion, knowledge, experience, and
skills to collaborate successfully with people on the local, regional,
and state levels to accomplish that. And District Three needs a leader
who understands budgets, general plans, transit overlays and taxing
methods, is eager to hear residents’ concerns, and work to find
solutions.

Lastly, leadership takes a willingness to sacrifice for the good of
the community. With a $7.3 million deficit, Yucaipa needs to tighten
its belt in every way possible. I will decline my stipend as a council
member; It won’t end the deficit, but we must start somewhere.
